Two bodies have been found in Lake Erie after an early morning search began near the Beaver Park Marina in Lorain after a vehicle had reportedly gone into the water.
The Lorain Police Underwater Recovery Team found the two bodies — both are female — shortly after 8 a.m.
One of the victims was found inside the vehicle, while police said the second was found a short time later.
Their identities are being withheld at this time.
“The incident remains under active investigation as officers and investigators continue working to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash and why the vehicle left the roadway,” according to Lorain police.
