At the Les Richards Swim Tournament at Scranton High School in February, Lackawanna Swim PIAA presented the Gary Mulrine Sportsmanship Award to the Wallenpaupack Area High School boys and girls swim team, which was selected by league PIAA swim officials. Mulrine served for many years as swim coach and official in Lackawanna County. Les Richards, the namesake for the tournament, has served the region in many aspects of swimming. The Wallenpaupack head coach is Stephanie Campbell and assistant coaches are Emily Kotcho, Hunter Vargo and Ali Parkes. Team captains of the boys are Jacob Eckes and Jasper Hathaway; the girls captains are Sophie Harmuth, Alexa Laing, Annalee Protasiewicz and Zoe Stuckey.
