Leam Richardson has made one changes to the starting XI from Bradford City as the Royals face play-off prospective Luton Town – Andy Yiadom has replaced Ryan Nyambe, after it was revealed at the pre-match press conference that he had been struggling with an injury and would be a doubt for today’s game.

Reading Starting XI: Pereira; O’Connor; Fraser; Savage; Wing; D Williams; Yiadom; R Williams; Doyle; Ward; Ehibhatiomhan.

Substitutes: Stevens; Patton; Abrefa; Lane; Burns; Ritchie; Dorsett.

Jack Marriott, Daniel Kyerewaa, Will Keane, Andy Rinomhota, Haydon Roberts and Kadan Young are notable absences in the squad – with Roberts having to get scanned due to a hamstring issue picked up against Bolton and is due to be out for ‘four to six weeks’.

Daniel Kyerewaa came off hobbling in the second half of the 2-2 draw against Exeter. He picked up the injury when he looked to clear the ball after an Exeter corner, the winger ended up kicking a player’s studs with full strength.

Richardson confirmed after the emphatic Reading 2-1 comeback against Bradford that Marriott had picked up a hamstring injury, but didn’t provide any details at the time.

When asked for an update at Thursday’s press conference as to Jack Marriott’s injury, Richardson said: “He’s obviously struggling with his hamstring.

“We haven’t been given a time frame on it yet because I think it needs to settle down more, so I’m led to believe and then he’s going to get more, he’s going to go see somebody at the end of this week.

“So he’s obviously been off feet for a couple of days for obvious reasons and then we’ll probably know more by the end of next week, I’m told by the medical team.”

He added: “Obviously with the amount of time in games that we’ve got, it’s not something probably that we’ll treat organically. We’ll want to get to an answer quite quickly really, rather than see how he presents.”
