READING, Pa. — Santander Arena is being transformed into a bull-riding arena for the Professional Bull Riders Velocity Tour.
Over two nights, 35 riders will face off against some of the toughest bulls in the sport.
Professional bull rider Michael Lane says fans should expect plenty of excitement.
“PBR is the toughest sport on dirt. It’s an action-packed night of excitement that will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire two hours,” he said.
For Lane, this has been a passion for years.
“I went from sheep riding to calf riding to junior bulls. And then after that, I had a main focus on being a professional bull rider,” explained Lane.
And during a show, there’s only one goal in mind.
“Our job is just to stay on the bull eight seconds and get off as safe as we can,” Lane said.
Riders are scored on how well they perform. The top riders from both nights return for a final championship round.
“I would say 35 different times throughout the night, us as riders don’t know what’s going to happen and neither do the fans,” said Lane.
And if you’ve never seen bull riding in person, organizers say this is one of the most intense live sporting events you can watch.
“It’s a family fun event that will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time,” Lane added.
