The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says the body was found near Bolles Harbor.
MONROE, Mich. — The body of a missing woman was found in Lake Erie south of Monroe, Michigan on Saturday morning.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says the body was found in the Bolles Harbor area of Monroe County around 11:30 a.m. near Shady Lane.
The Monroe Township Fire Department recovered the body and brought it to shore.
The person was later identified to be 34-year-old Jeanne Renee Peterson, from Sterling Heights, Michigan in Mcomb County north of Detroit.
Peterson was reported missing on December 19, 2025 after she was seen jumping off the Macarthur Bridge in Detroit.
Peterson’s body was taken to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy.
