Brit Stoneback has worn many hats over the years: horror film and “Forensic Files” makeup artist, restaurant manager, salon operations manager.

Now, after years of working at a Lehigh Valley salon, she has found a new title — owner — and a new salon name.

“Making people feel good,” Stoneback said of what she enjoys the most with her work. “You never know … people could be having the worst day and you get to do their hair and makeup for them, and just make them feel good.”

Stoneback took over Aug. 1 as owner at Tangles, now renamed to Salon Stone & Spa, at 4003 William Penn Highway in Palmer Township.

The salon offers services such as haircuts, styling, extensions, coloring, makeup, manicures, pedicures, waxing, eyelash styling and massages. It also will eventually offer head spa services to help clean the scalp and promote hair growth.

Stoneback, who grew up on Forks Township, did makeup work for “Forensic Files,” the horror film “Bereavement” and for photo shoots. She also worked in the restaurant industry, and was a manager at Mesa Modern Mexican in Easton.

About a decade ago, Stoneback started doing makeup work for Tangles, when it operated on Butler Street in Wilson under owner Lora Dias. She later became the salon’s operations manager.

“[Dias has] done it for 12 years, her kids are getting older … a little bit more demanding and schedule-wise with the kids,” Stoneback said. “So she wanted … it was a hard decision, you know what I mean? And she wanted to make sure that it went to the right person.”

Dias will still work at the salon, Stoneback added.

Stoneback is not the first of her family to own a salon. Her grandmother Teresa Farina operated Teresa’s Beauty Salon on Washington Street in Easton until she retired in 1984. Stoneback even has an old station that includes a mirror and drawers from her grandmother’s place, one that she plans to eventually bring over to Salon Stone & Spa.

“That was my mom’s mom and I had a very close relationship with her,” she said. “Unfortunately, my Grammy developed dementia pretty much after about when I was 5 or 6, so unfortunately I didn’t get a lot of information from her about the beauty salon or anything like that. But it was just pretty neat to learn later in life that I was more or less following in her footsteps, and then eventually owning a salon like she did.”

Salon Stone & Spa operates 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Order acai bowls at this new Whitehall shop

It will offer acai bowls, coffee, ice cream, waffles, pancakes on a stick, smoothies and juice.

“[Acai bowls are] just something I’ve always liked, and I wanted to give something clean to the community, where I’m going to be using fresh fruit and fresh bases and stuff,” Johnson said. “Rather than all the extra-processed stuff.”

New stretching studio coming to Palmer Township

StretchLab held a soft opening Thursday at 3051 William Penn Highway in Palmer Township, according to Tom Seibold, the franchisee alongside his wife Gina.

The studio provides one-on-one stretching sessions with “flexologists” to improve flexibility and mobility, help with recovery and enhance athletes’ performance.

“We were looking for a wellness or fitness concept that would make a difference in people’s lives, and my wife had a pretty deep experience teaching adults and children’s yoga over a 20-year-period, so that’s kind of how we got into this,” Tom said.

The new studio, which Tom said will have a grand opening most likely around mid-April, will operate 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

The space previously hosted The Glass Guru, he added.

Tom and Gina are also the franchisees for the studio that opened in 2023 at the Tilghman Square shopping center in South Whitehall Township.
