Michael J. Vanino

OBITUARY

Michael J. Vanino, 73, passed away in his Kenhorst residence on Sunday, March 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. For over 30 years he was the devoted companion of Patricia K. Schmehl.

Born in West Reading to the late Joseph and Helen Vanino, Mike graduated from West Reading High School in 1970. Mike retired from Wolfe Dye and Bleach as the loading dock manager.

He was a man of many passionate interests. He loved auto racing of all kinds and was heavily involved with the Pagoda and Duryea Hillclimb races in Reading, volunteering as the photographer for the hill climb events and assisting with course setup. He enjoyed basketball and coaching his son’s little league basketball team.

Left to treasure Mike’s memory is his companion and love, Patricia; his children: Michael D. Vanino of Reading; Jamie Vanino of Sinking Spring; Steve Werley and wife Angela of Hamburg; and Heather Werley of Lebanon; and grandchildren, Marcello and Laylani Vanino and Kylie and Brennan Werley. He is also survived by his nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his sister, Josie Adams and her late husband, Pete.
