It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David C. Scranton, born on August 15, 1956, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Robert & Rosemary (Clinton) Scranton. Dave, a dedicated truck driver who spent many years with Radabaugh Trucking and Montgomery Trucking, left us peacefully due to natural causes on February 23, 2026.
After graduating high school in the Class of 1974, from Southside H.S, in Fort Wayne, he married his high school sweetheart Karen Radabaugh on August 7, 1976. He enjoyed golf and tinkering with old cars in his spare time. He also enjoyed music, especially the 70’s and 80’s. But his favorite joy was spending time with his family and friends.
Dave was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He leaves behind his cherished wife, Karen Scranton, his children: Jeremy High, Ashley (Josh) Tinkel, and Joshua Scranton, and his grandchildren, Kalliegh High, Stella High, Mikaela Wilson, Savannah Wilson. He will also be missed as well by his siblings, Vicki Shaw, Rick (Patty) Scranton, John (Diane) Scranton, and Judy Intenso. He also has a sister-in-law Sherrie (Eric) Bergendahl, and their child: Jennifer (Carl) Ellefson, a brother-in-law Donald D. (Stephanie) Radabaugh, Jr., and their children, Jaclyn (Cody) Kieler, Jordyn Siples, Larissa Beverley, and a host of other nieces and nephews surviving. Honorary family, to include Ryan (Angela Conner) Stiffler, Cierra Shaffer, Kialee Otis, Caitlyn Otis, and Blaine Stiffler also survive.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents Robert & Rosemary Scranton.
To celebrate Dave’s life and the memories we all shared with him, a public visitation will take place at Divine Mercy Funeral Home-Cedar Canyons, 1986 W. Cedar Canyons Rd., Huntertown, IN 46748, on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 1:00-3:00pm. This will be followed by a memorial service at the same location at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow at Huntertown Cemetery,

Dave’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His warm smile and kind soul will be greatly missed. We invite everyone who knew him to join us in remembering a truly wonderful man.
