Mill Street Bridge in Dunmore closed to traffic until further notice

DUNMORE, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — The Dunmore Borough Police Department has announced the closure of a heavily traveled bridge connecting parts of the borough.

The bridge linking the 1000 block of Mill Street to Erie Street — commonly known as the Bunker Hill or Mill Street Bridge — is closed to all traffic until further notice. Authorities did not provide a timeline for when it may reopen.

The structure carries Mill Street over Roaring Brook and nearby railroad tracks and runs beneath Interstate 81, serving as a key route between neighborhoods.

Motorists traveling to the Bunker Hill or East Scranton areas are advised to follow a detour using Ash Street via Wheeler Avenue.
