Before the Cleveland Cavaliers tipped off against the Boston Celtics at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, dancers from Erie’s Little Dance Studio had a moment of their own under the arena lights.
More than 300 studio members — including performers, family and friends — traveled to the sold‑out game to take part in the pregame performance.
Dancers buzzed with energy and nerves as they prepared backstage, channeling it all into a bright, upbeat Latin jazz routine. Performers of all ages took the court together, representing Erie while celebrating the studio’s milestone 100th season of dance education.
For many, stepping onto an NBA court was a once‑in‑a‑lifetime moment shared with their community.
“That was absolutely electric. That was so much fun,” said adult jazz dancer Shelby Malone after the performance. “I’m so blessed and fortunate to be able to continue my dancing with a lot of people that I love.”
Studio leaders say the opportunity was the perfect way to mark their 100‑year anniversary.
