COMPASS, Pa. (WHTM) — A Pennsylvania state trooper was shot during a traffic stop in Chester County just over the Lancaster County line, officials said Sunday night.
Chester County Commissioner Eric Roe said the trooper was shot during a traffic stop in West Caln Township.
“Please join me in praying for the state trooper who was shot moments ago during a traffic stop in West Caln Township,” Roe said in a Facebook post. “Chester County’s brave police officers put their lives on the line for us every day. I thank all of them for their extraordinary bravery and sacrifice. May God save this state trooper.”

The Chester County Department of Emergency Services said Route 10, Compass Road, is closed between Hill Road and Lammey Road for a police investigation. That is about two air miles east of the Lancaster County line.
