In the final game of her career at Abington Heights, Jessie Muskey scored 30 points in a 59-53 loss to Harrisburg in the first round of the PIAA Class 4A girls basketball tournament. Muskey finished her Lady Comets career with 2,191 points. …  Mike Reno and Al Callejas each scored 27 points as Bishop O’Hara beat Southern Columbia, 75-73, in the second round of the PIAA Class A boys basketball playoffs. …  Bill Celuck totaled 27 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks to help Valley View knock off Owen J. Roberts, 68-51, in the PIAA Class 3A boys basketball second round.  Mike Kurpis had 10 points and 11 assists. … Delaware Valley overcame a nine-point deficit in the second half to beat Palmyra, 71-65, and advance to the quarterfinals of the PIAA Class 3A boys basketball playoffs.  Scott Nielsen had 20 points and 14 rebounds for the Warriors.  Denis Glamann added 19 points, while Joel Sweeney collected 15 points and 10 rebounds. … Lower Merion scored the game’s first 22 points on its way to a 79-39 win over Scranton in the PIAA Class 4A boys basketball second round.  Future NBA legend Kobe Bryant had 25 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and five steals for Lower Merion. Willie Chandler led the Knights with 14 points.

Nashira Turner scored 11 of her game-high 21 points in the fourth quarter and also blocked a final shot attempt as Scranton rallied from a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat Central Bucks East, 42-40, for its first win in the PIAA Class 4A girls basketball playoffs. …  Will Wertz came off the bench to score 18 points and help defeat Susquehannock, 46-42, in the first round of the PIAA Class 3A boys basketball playoffs. …  Bishop Hannan grad and Syracuse University senior guard Gerry McNamara capped a magical four-day run at the Big East Tournament at Madison Square Garden in New York, scoring 14 points and handing out six assists in the final to lead the Orange past Pitt, 65-61, and repeat as champs. McNamara was selected tournament MVP. …  Allison Matt scored 12 points as the University of Scranton women’s basketball team rallied past Baldwin-Wallace, 50-41, to advance to the NCAA Division III Final Four. …  Mountain View’s Matt Panasevich finished fifth at 189 pounds in Class 2A at the PIAA Wrestling Championships in Hershey. Also earning state medals were Ray Bennett of Abington Heights, who was fifth at 215 pounds in Class 3A, and Brandon Dixon from Lackawanna Trail, who was eighth at 145 pounds in Class 2A.

Logan Bailey led the Cavaliers with 21 points and Nick Dende added 18. … Dunmore’s Maddie Martin scored 13 points to help the Lady Bucks advance to the PIAA Class 2A girls basketball semifinals with a 45-44 win over Imhotep Charter in the quarterfinals. … Abington Heights senior Nick Carr earned a bronze medal in Class 3A at 160 pounds with a 6-2 decision over Pennridge’s Joshua Stillings at the PIAA Wrestling Championships in Hershey. … St. Clare/St. Paul won another Scranton Diocese boys basketball title, beating All Saints Academy in the final, 33-20. Daniel Walsh had 12 points and Mark McGoff 10 points for the Crusaders.
