How they got here: Salisbury, the third-place team from District 3, defeated 12-2 West Philadelphia, 54-45; Scranton Prep, the District 2 champion, beat 3-3 Schuylkill Valley, 65-48.

Up next: Winner advances to the quarterfinals Friday and will play winner of 12-4 Devon Prep (6-18) vs. 2-3 Valley View (20-6) game.

Noteworthy: Scranton Prep won its eighth District 2 Class 4A championship since 2016-17. Scranton Prep is 30-26 all-time in the state playoffs and won in the first round in four straight seasons. Scranton Prep senior Packy Doherty has more than 1,000 career points and scored 25 points with five 3-pointers in a win over Schuylkill Valley in the first round. He has 153 career points with 33 3-pointers in seven state playoff games. Salisbury’s Steve Lozada scored 25 points, and Drew Petrie had 10 in the first-round win over West Philadelphia. Lozada has scored 874 career points.

How they got here: Valley View, the third-place team from District 2, defeated 4-2 Montoursville, 58-44; Devon Prep, the fourth-place team from District 12 and the defending PIAA champion, defeated District 11 champion Allentown Central Catholic, 68-47.

Noteworthy: This is a rematch of last season’s PIAA Class 4A semifinal that Devon Prep won 64-44. Valley View is in the PIAA Class 4A playoffs for the fourth straight season and 15th time overall. The Cougars are 15-14 in the state playoffs. Former University of Scranton standout Jason Fisher is head coach at Devon Prep. Devon Prep lost to Scranton Prep, 73-58, and Abington Heights, 54-49, this season. Devon Prep has a win over defending PIAA Class 3A champion, West Catholic, 53-44, this season. During Fisher’s career, Devon Prep has won PIAA championships in 2022, 2024, and 2025.
