ROARING BROOK TWP., LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — Anglers planning to fish along Roaring Brook in Lackawanna County this season will encounter changes due to ongoing bridge construction projects.
Township officials say the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission will not stock trout this year in the stretch of Roaring Brook between the Elmhurst Dam and GC Smith Street. The decision comes at the request of bridge contractors and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
In addition to the canceled stocking, the public will not be permitted to fish in areas surrounding the two active bridge construction sites. Officials say contractors will install additional signage in the coming days to alert residents and discourage access near the work zones.
Township leaders are urging the public to comply with safety restrictions and avoid interfering with ongoing construction activities.
