Noteworthy: Faith Christian is making its eighth PIAA appearance (6-7). The Lady Lions pulled a pair of upsets to win the District 1 title. They were the No. 3 seed, but beat No. 2 Calvary Christian in the semifinals, 45-34, then knocked off No. 1 Renaissance Academy in the final, 43-36, overcoming a nine-point halftime deficit. Verbit scored 25 points in the win, including 14 for 18 from the foul line. It is their second district title in the past four seasons (2023). In the first-round state win over Paul Robeson, Albright and Sasselli each scored nine points. … In its first-round victory, Mountain View built a 39-26 lead after three quarters, then withstood a fourth-quarter rally by Northwest. The Lady Eagles are playoff-tested, having reached the Class 2A semifinals last season, the Class 1A final in 2024 and the Class 1A semis in 2023. This is their eighth PIAA appearance (12-7). Kilmer, an East Stroudsburg University commit and first-team all-state selection last season, has 2,235 career points. … Mountain View averages 52.9 points and allows 39.1 points.

Class 3A Second round

Its first-round win was its first state playoff victory (1-2). … The Lady Raptors lost one of their top players, Kendall Medina, to a torn ACL in the team’s penultimate game of the regular season, as well as two other players who must sit out because they are transfers. Hargrove has picked up the slack. In the District 11 semifinal win over Notre Dame Green Pond, she scored 18 points. In the district final against Schuylkill Haven, she had 15 points and 10 rebounds. Bush also had a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds in the district final. Riddick chipped in 12 points in the district semifinal. … Executive Education is coached by Jose Medina, who previously coached at Bethlehem Catholic from 2014-23 and had a career record there of 204-49 with Class 4A state titles in 2017 and 2019. … Dunmore is making its 33rd PIAA appearance (51-32). It won the Class 3A championship in 2023. … The Lady Bucks average 49.2 points and allow 30.0 points. … The Lady Bucks’ three losses have come by a total of 14 points, including a pair of one-point defeats. … The Lady Bucks are on a 10-game winning streak. … A common opponent for the teams is Holy Redeemer. Executive Education lost to the Lady Royals, 39-35, on Dec. 5. Dunmore beat Holy Redeemer in the District 2 final, 37-35, on Feb. 28.
