“Just seeing the aftermath of the first responders, you know, in the street. And there was, again, four or five different first responders actively doing CPR on the victim.” Nychuk says.
Wyomissing Police say the victim, 71-year-old Eugenia Polonski of Reading, died at Reading Hospital as a result of her injuries.
“I had never seen any I may have seen like accidents before, but that was pretty, you know, chilling to see in person like that.” Nychuk says.
The Pennsylvania State Police Accident Reconstruction Team was called in to assist in the investigation.
“My husband’s a first responder.” Nychuk says. “I’m just grateful that we have such great first responders in the area to assist with emergency situations like this.”
The driver of the SUV was cited for failing to properly stop at a stop sign and was taken to a magisterial district court where the person immediately pleaded guilty.
