WYOMISSING, Pa. – An investigation is underway after a person was struck and killed by a car Friday afternoon in Wyomissing.

It happened around 1:15 p.m. in the 2200 block of State Hill Road.

Police say an SUV hit 71-year-old Eugenia Polonski.

Polonski was taken to Reading hospital where she died from her injuries.

The Pennsylvania State Police Accident Reconstruction Team was called in to assist in the investigation.

Authorities say the driver was cited for failing to properly stop at a STOP sign and was taken to a magisterial district court where they immediately pleaded guilty.
