A firefighter was injured battling a fire that consumed a shed and camper in Alsace Township Monday afternoon, emergency reports said.
The initial call about 3:45 p.m. reported a detached shed on fire in the first block of Oley Road. There was no one in the shed at the time of the call, reports said.
Firefighters on the scene said the fire had fully consumed a 10-by-20-foot shed and spread to the surrounding brush and a nearby camper.
Multiple brush trucks and tankers were called in and the fires were reported under control shortly after 4 p.m.
Firefighters were using rakes and leaf blowers to search for and contain remnants of the fire, reports said. Smaller brush fires erupted and were controlled during the operation.
One firefighter was taken for treatment by emergency services during the operation.
