CHARLOTTE — The Carolina Panthers made a splash on the first day of free agency in the NFL.
The Carolina Panthers agreed to terms with former Philadelphia Eagles outside linebacker Jaelan Phillips early Monday afternoon, the team announced.
They also agreed to a three-year, $45 million deal with former Jaguars LB Devin Lloyd on Monday night, ESPN is reporting.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter is also reporting that Phillips signed a 4-year, $120 million dollar deal that will have 80 million in guarantees.
Phillips, 26, has 28 sacks in five seasons in the NFL and was traded from the Miami Dolphins to the Eagles last year.
The Panthers were 28th in the league in sacks last season with 30.0 and are looking for Phillips to help boost those numbers.
Lloyd finished last season with 35 solo tackles and five interceptions.
The Panthers also signed quarterback Kenny Pickett to be the backup to Bryce Young.
