DEMANDING ANSWERS FROM THE COMPANY. SHE THOUGHT SHE WAS DOING BUSINESS WITH. KAYLA BEYER TELLS ME THAT AFTER SHE LOST THOSE TWO IPADS, SHE CAME HERE TO THE XFINITY STORE IN ROBINSON, AND THE EMPLOYEE HERE TOLD HER THAT AT LEAST TWO OTHER XFINITY CUSTOMERS HAD COME IN DISCUSSING THE SAME SCAM. THE FEAR OF HAVING THINGS DELIVERED TO MY HOUSE THAT’S THERE. AND THEN JUST LIKE, WHAT IF SOMETHING HAPPENS WITH XFINITY AGAIN? LIKE, WHAT IF I HAVE AN INTERNET ISSUE AND I CALL LIKE, IS MY INFORMATION BEING LISTENED TO? RACCOON TOWNSHIP RESIDENT AND XFINITY CUSTOMER KAYLA BEYER ORDERED TWO IPADS THROUGH A COMPANY PROMOTION BEFORE ANYONE EVEN OPENED THE BOX. SHE GOT A CALL FROM XFINITY MOBILE DEPARTMENT. IN REGARDS TO THE PACKAGE THAT YOU GOT FROM US, IT’S A REFURBISHED PACKAGE AND THE REFURBISHED DEVICE INSIDE THE PACKAGE, SO WHENEVER YOU WILL GET FREE YOU CAN CALL US BACK. THANK YOU. SOMEONE CLAIMING TO BE FROM XFINITY TOLD HER TO SEND THE PACKAGE BACK SO THEY COULD DELIVER THE CORRECT IPADS. SHE SAYS SHE PUT IT ON THE PORCH AND LEFT WHILE SHE WAS AT WORK, BUT SHE NEVER RECEIVED THE NEW IPADS. BEYER CALLED XFINITY CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY TOLD HER SHE WAS SCAMMED AND TOOK THE TWO IPADS OFF OF HER ACCOUNT. SHE BOUGHT TWO NEW ONES IN STORE, BUT TWO WEEKS LATER, THE CHARGES FOR THE ORIGINAL TWO IPADS ARE BACK AND NOW SHE OWES AROUND $1,000 FOR FOUR DEVICES. SHE SAID CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLD HER SHE HAS TO PAY FOR ALL OF IT. I UNFORTUNATELY FELL FOR THAT SCAM, BUT IT WAS SOMEONE THAT WAS CLAIMING THEY WERE FROM XFINITY LIKE THEY USED XFINITY TO REEL ME IN, AND SHE SAID THAT IT BASICALLY IT’S NOT THEIR FAULT BECAUSE THERE WAS NO BREACH IN THE SYSTEM, BUT I JUST THOUGHT IT WAS KIND OF WEIRD THAT THEY KNEW WHEN I GOT MY IPADS, THEY KNEW WHAT IPADS I GOT. PITTSBURGH’S ACTION NEWS FOUR WAS ABLE TO REACH COMCAST. RIGHT NOW, THEY SAID THEY NEED TO FIGURE OUT HOW THE SCAMMERS GOT BUYERS ORDER INFORMATION. IN A STATEMENT, THEY WROTE IN PART, QUOTE, IF CUSTOMERS SUSPECT A SCAM OR ANYTHING SUSPICIOUS, THEY SHOULD CONTACT COMCAST IMMEDIATELY TO VERIFY THE LEGITIMACY OF ANY REQUESTS RECEIVED OR OTHER CONCERNING ACTIVITY INVOLVING THEIR ACCOUNT. CUSTOMERS SHOULD BE SUSPICIOUS OF ANYONE REQUESTING A SPECIFIC FORM OF PAYMENT OR PERSONAL INFORMATION. COMCAST SAYS THEY’RE GOING TO CONTINUE TO INVESTIGATE WHAT HAPPENED HERE AND HELP BYER RESOLVE THE ISSUES ON HER ACCO

A Beaver County woman says she is trying to sort out a costly mystery after falling victim to what appears to be a scam involving two iPads she ordered through Xfinity.“It’s like the fear of having things delivered to my house, that’s there. It’s a refurbished package and a refurbished device inside the package, so whenever you see this, call us back. Thank you,” the voicemail said. RACCOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

A Beaver County woman says she is trying to sort out a costly mystery after falling victim to what appears to be a scam involving two iPads she ordered through Xfinity.

“It’s like the fear of having things delivered to my house, that’s there. And then just like, what if something happens with Xfinity again? What if I have an internet issue and I call? Is my information being listened to?” Kayla Beyer said.
