Three greenhouses, several forklifts and planting supplies were damaged in the fire, but Beacom said first responders kept the flames away from the main building.
“They had stuff laid out. They had lines drafted from the lake we have back here. They were just a well-oiled machine. They come in, and they handled it all,” Beacom said.
While the cause of the fire is under investigation, Beacom said they have an idea of what could have caused it.
“We think it was a man lift that was inside the building that we use every single year to hang our structures up for the season. We put the thing in there about two weeks ago and had it plugged in. So, that was the only thing that was plugged in that we could find as of right now,” he said.
It was business as usual for the business as it dealt with the aftermath. However, Beacom said the community’s support has been incredible.
“You take the good from the bad, and it outweighs everything bad has happened, you know? I mean, you see such support, you see such wonderful people, and that’s amazing,” he said.
