A second alarm was struck for a fire that damaged a Marion Township barn containing dairy cows Tuesday afternoon.
Initial calls at 2:24 p.m. reported a tractor fire in the 200 block of School Road that spread to a structure containing dairy cows.
Crews at the scene reported heavy smoke showing from the heifer barn. A second alarm was struck due to a manpower shortage, reports said.
Crews had water on the fire within minutes of the initial call, and the blaze was quickly contained.
The bulk of the fire was reportedly knocked down at 2:33 p.m., and it was placed under control at 2:50 p.m.
All animals were safe and accounted for, reports said.
