Multiple fire crews were on the scene after a towboat reportedly caught fire near the Gateway Clipper boat dock in Pittsburgh Tuesday evening. Sky 4, Pittsburgh’s only news chopper, flew over the scene in Station Square, where first responders could be seen with equipment on the “Empress II” towboat. Video from the scene showed light smoke emitting from inside the top floor of the boat. Fire crews were also seen dousing the top floor of the boat with water. Action News 4 also had a crew at the Gateway Clipper. Photos from the scene showed multiple first responders blocking off the road leading to the entrance of the dock.
