HARRISBURG, Pa. – A state lawmaker is taking action after a school bus driver was arrested while driving her route and charged with DUI.
State Senator Tracy Pennycuick (R – 24th District,) who represents parts of Berks and Montgomery counties, introduced the legislation today.
It calls for increasing penalties for school bus drivers under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances.
Police say a Boyertown Area School District bus driver was transporting more than 50 students last month while under the influence of both alcohol and THC.
