SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – On Tuesday, Sioux Falls City Council held a first reading of the proposed TIF district for the new Smithfield Foods facility.

The $90 million proposal is to help the company pay for part of its wastewater treatment facility following the completion of the new facility.
The first read passed unanimously. The second reading will be held on March 17, along with the first reading for Smithfield’s permit.
