ALLENTOWN, Pa. – A man has been accused of attacking and killing another man in Allentown in 2023.

John Albert Garner, 25, of Allentown, is charged with homicide and aggravated assault, both first-degree felonies, according to a news release from the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.

Garner was arraigned Thursday and is in custody and is being held without bail, the DA’s office said.

At 10:20 a.m. July 9, 2023, Allentown Police were called to the 300 block of N. 16th St. to assist city paramedics with a male who was reported to be in cardiac arrest. The man who called 911 said he had not heard from Alexander Mason Price for several days and went to Price’s residence to check on him and found Price’s body on the floor of his room, according to the news release.

Price, 29, died from blunt force head trauma and his death was ruled a homicide by Lehigh County Coroner Dan Buglio, according to the DA’s office.

The DA’s office says the investigation revealed that Garner attacked Price and caused the fatal injuries.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for 1:15 p.m. March 28 in Lehigh County Central Court. The affidavit of probable cause is sealed for 60 days.
