SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — A Scranton woman is facing multiple felony charges following her arrest in late January, according to court records filed in Lackawanna County.

Zakia Patterson, 50, was arrested January 31 and charged with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of children and unlawful restraint of a minor.

Court documents show Patterson is accused of attempting to cause serious bodily injury or acting with extreme indifference to human life. She is also charged with unlawfully restraining a minor in a manner that allegedly created a risk of bodily injury, as well as child endangerment related to her role as a parent or guardian.

Patterson was arraigned earlier this month and bail was set at $50,000 unsecured, which has been posted. The case remains active and is currently awaiting a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 18 before a magisterial district judge in Scranton.

Details surrounding the allegations have not yet been released in the public docket.
