SHILLINGTON, Pa. – High school Spring sports games begin this Friday. There were lots of Berks County teams that made it far in the PIAA playoffs last year..

Governor Mifflin baseball is coming off a county and district championship season, along with a run to the state quarterfinals.

They won state gold two years ago.

With big shoes to fill after players graduating like Ethan Grim — who’s now at Virginia Tech — and Bryce Detwiler — who is now at UConn — several Mustangs are ready to step up.

The team will head down to Myrtle Beach next week to get some reps in the sunshine before the season gets underway.

Feel good. We’ve been playing with each other for a long time” senior Ethan Glucksnis said.

“A lot of guys need experience. We’re looking to get that down in Myrtle Beach and then just come out hot and kind of play as a team and just have fun.”

“We’ve all been playing with each other since like eight years so we’re all pretty close and we’re just ready to get going” senior RJ Weaver added.

“Just stay ready. We play Cumberland Valley down in Myrtle and then we have like four or five away games in a row when we come back so just stay ready and stay loose.”
