READING, Pa. – Police were on the scene of a reported deadly stabbing in Reading Wednesday.
As of Wednesday night, the investigation was in its early stages, but it was reported that there was a fatal stabbing in the 1200 block of Amity Street.
The Berks County coroner did confirm that they were called to the scene and that at least one person was dead.
Caution tape was set up, and multiple Reading police vehicles were there with flashing lights.
Amity Street and Birch Street were blocked off Wednesday night.
Officials say told police responded around 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Neighbors who live along the block said it is typically a quiet area and not much happens around there. There’s also a playground just down the street from where the incident happened.
People who live in the area expressed concern Wednesday night and said they did see somebody being transported out of a home in the 1200 block of Amity Street.
