OBITUARY

Ann Kobierecki, 94, of Dickson City, passed away peacefully at home on March 7, 2026, surrounded by her devoted family.

Born on July 17, 1931 in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Albin and Helen Galazin Zawacki. As one of nine children, she grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. She graduated from Throop High School.

Ann’s children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride and purpose. She will be remembered for her kindness, unwavering love for and dedication to her family, countless home-cooked meals, and her famous pierogi.

She will be missed most by those who had the privilege to call her Mommy, Babci, and Ciocci.

Ann is survived by her children: Stanley Kobierecki, Fort Walton Beach, FL., Cathy Stepkovitch and husband Allan, Scott Township, and Helene Castellano, Dickson City; granddaughters: Kristen Castellano, Jessica Kobierecki, Crystal Seeuwen and husband Matt, and Jillian Dwyer and husband Richard; great-grandchildren: Rocco, Olivia, Cory, Myla, Liam, Sierra, and Leo; sisters: Genevieve Legenza, Cleveland, OH., Joanne Polanichka, Hershey, and Theresa Shamro, Uniondale; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Kobierecki Sr.; longtime companion, Henry Piechota; son-in-law, Raymond Castellano; four brothers; and one sister.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 13, at 10:00 a.m. In the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1090 Carmalt St., Dickson City, PA. A viewing will be held Friday before Mass from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the John F. Glinsky Funeral Home, Inc., 445 Sanderson St., Throop. Interment will follow at Visitation of Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery, Dickson City, PA.

All those attending Mass please go directly to church.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.
