The Baltimore Ravens are no longer trading for Las Vegas Raiders superstar Maxx Crosby after the Pro Bowler failed his physical.

Crosby is recovering from left knee surgery.

With Crosby available in trade talks again, one NFL writer believes the Philadelphia Eagles should trade for the star defender.

Alex Kay of Bleacher Report proposed that the Eagles trade their first-round pick in this year’s draft to the Raiders for Crosby. Philadelphia has the 23rd overall pick in the 2026 draft.

This trade idea pairs Crosby with Jalen Carter. The Eagles need to replace Jaelan Phillips, who joined the Carolina Panthers.

“Crosby would be a perfect fit in the City of Brotherly Love,” Kay wrote. “The team needs an elite pass-rushing talent to lead the defense, as no Eagles player notched more than 6.5 sacks last season. Haason Reddick’s 11-sack effort in 2023 marked the most recent time a Philadelphia defender accumulated more than eight sacks in a season.

“The Eagles still have other holes to patch on the defense after losing standouts like Nakobe Dean and Reed Blankenship, but signing Crosby would cover up plenty of weak points on this roster.”

Crosby would take the Eagles’ defense to another level. The talented defender is arguably the best pass rusher in the NFL. He had 10 sacks in 2025 for the Raiders despite playing on a torn meniscus.

The 28-year-old Crosby has been in the NFL since 2019. He has 69.5 sacks, 278 solo tackles, 133 tackles for loss and 164 QB hits in 110 games.

Philadelphia lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the wild-card round of the 2026 playoffs, one year after beating the Kansas Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

The Eagles’ defense finished fifth in the NFL in scoring defense last season, giving up only 19.1 points per game. Philadelphia’s 56.8% completion percentage allowed led the league, while its 75.4 passer rating ranked second.

It will be interesting to see if the Eagles trade for Crosby, who doesn’t have a no-trade clause in his contract.
