Quezon City participated in the Reading Model School Inspection Meeting held last March 4, 2026, led by educator Edison David, who has been named a recipient of the Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) by King Charles III for his contributions to education.

Hosted by Chalkboard, Quezon City’s service provider in the implementation of the program, the activity served as an evaluation of the Reading Model School pilot currently being implemented in selected public elementary schools. The meeting focused on assessing the program’s effectiveness in strengthening phonics instruction and foundational reading skills among early grade learners.

During the session, Mr. Edison David shared his observations and feedback on the implementation of the pilot program, particularly on the delivery of phonics instruction and strategies to further strengthen foundational reading skills.

Insights from the inspection meeting will help guide the refinement of the Reading Model School program, which aims to strengthen early reading instruction and ensure that learners develop strong literacy foundations in the early years of schooling.
