Who: 48 individual bowlers — 24 boys (12 from Eastern Regional and 12 from Western) and 24 girls (12 from Eastern Regional and 12 from Western); 24 teams — 12 boys teams (six from Eastern Regional and six from Western) and 12 girls teams (six from Eastern Regional and six from Western).

Format: Singles (Friday) — Each bowler rolls six games of qualifying in the morning, with the top five advancing to the afternoon stepladder finals, which consist of one game with the winner moving on (third qualifier gets a bye into quarterfinals, second into semifinal and first into final).

Team (Saturday) — Three standard games will be followed by six Baker games of qualifying in the morning. The top four advance to the afternoon stepladder bracket finals, which consist of the best-of-three Baker games, with the No. 2 qualifier getting a bye into the semifinals and the No. 1 qualifier into the final.

Last year’s champions: Boys — Gavin Courtney, Garden Spot. Girls — Amelia Droste, Hempfield Area (District 7). Boys team — Greensburg Salem. Girls team — Hempfield Area (District Seven).

Notes: Courtney defeated Montoursville’s Connor Anthony 237-229 in last year’s final after finishing second the previous year. … Courtney won all four postseason tournaments for L-L League bowlers last year and repeated as L-L champion this year before falling in the semifinals of the District Three and Eastern Pennsylvania Regional championships. … Courtney is the only returning bowler from last year’s stepladder finals. … Droste defeated Warwick’s Taylor Miller 248-175 in last year’s final. Droste returns while Miller graduated. … Rotondo gives Elizabethtown a girl in state competition for the second straight year; Ella Eberle failed to reach the stepladder finals, qualifying seventh, last year. … Greensburg Salem defeated Armstrong 2-0 in last year’s boys team final. Greensburg Salem didn’t qualify this year while Armstrong returns. … Elizabethtown won the boys team title in 2024. The Bears qualified for this year’s state tournament by reaching the Eastern Pennsylvania Regional semifinals. Hempfield finished second in the regional while Warwick lost to the Black Knights in the quarterfinals. … Hempfield Area defeated Plum 2-0 in last year’s girls final. … No L-L League teams reached last year’s stepladder bracket finals.
