DUNMORE, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — Pennsylvania State Police in Dunmore are investigating a suspected neglect case involving a 63-year-old woman at a group home in Lackawanna County.
According to a public information release, troopers were notified on March 5 by the Lackawanna County Area on Aging about concerns at the Beacon Group Home on Joni Drive in Spring Brook Township.
Officials said the agency had begun looking into a potential neglect situation after an elderly resident was removed from the facility and taken to Geisinger Community Medical Center. The woman is currently being treated in the intensive care unit.
Cpl. Jason Traino is leading the investigation. No additional details have been released, and authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.
