Emergency responders pulled a man from the Lackawanna River on Thursday after he was reported floating and unresponsive near Mulberry Street in Scranton.

The man was spotted at about 11:50 a.m. and emergency responders found him as he moved downriver, according to dispatches from the Lackawanna County 911 center.

Emergency responders soon spotted the man near Sunoco on Seventh Avenue. They pulled him from the river and started CPR.

The man’s condition was not immediately clear.

A police officer fell into the water during the rescue. He was transported to the hospital by fellow officers, according to county 911 center dispatches.
