Prepare for some dramatic weather changes.

While Thursday morning in the Philadelphia region started off warm, be sure to keep a coat nearby. A significant drop in temperatures is expected, along with a chance of rain, sleet and light snow.

The NBC10 First Alert Weather Team reported a 50-degree drop in temperature from Wednesday to Thursday afternoon.

A strong cold front is expected to move through the region on Thursday afternoon, bringing steady and heavy precipitation at times until 8 p.m.

Some people may even see wet snowflakes. However, there will not be any accumulation.

Temperatures will crash from the 50s and 60s to the 30s during the afternoon. Due to gusty winds, wind chills will hover around the upper 20s to low 30s.

Seasonable air will return Friday and into the weekend with highs in the low to mid 50s.
