Defenseman Alexander Alexeyev has been recalled by the Pittsburgh Penguins from their AHL affiliate team, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Furthermore, defenseman Ryan Graves has been sent down on a corresponding move, although he’ll continue to count on Pittsburgh’s active roster with his full cap impact while in the minors.
The 26-year-old Alexeyev has been in and out of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins lineup. He has seven points (3G, 4A) in 29 of the team’s 57 games this season with a rating of plus-4. The Russian blueliner has played in 174 AHL games scoring 59 points (9G, 50A) in a career where he has also played for the Hershey Bears.
The 30-year-old Graves in his third season with Pittsburgh. He has so far played in 150 NHL games with Pittsburgh, putting up 19 points (4G, 10A) with a rating of minus-11.
