BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — A Bensalem man is in custody following a nationwide investigation into sextortion allegations, as local law enforcement ask additional victims to come forward.

David Ajiri, 25, surrendered to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado on Monday following a warrant obtained by the Arvada Police Department with assistance from the Bensalem Township Police Department, police said.

Investigators believe Ajiri targeted women and girls as young as 14 years old across the United States since at least 2018.

While one victim has been officially confirmed, detectives believe many more individuals may have been targeted.

According to investigators, Ajiri allegedly used dating apps, friendship apps, and social media platforms to contact victims.

He reportedly convinced victims to send intimate images or videos in exchange for payment, but detectives say the victims were never paid, police said.

When victims confronted the suspect, Ajiri allegedly threatened to send the images or videos to friends, family members, or social media contacts, police said.

These threats were made to coerce victims into providing additional explicit content or money. Investigators also found that victims were sometimes sent detailed lists of specific images and videos they were instructed to provide.

Evidence indicates some of the content may have been sold online.

Ajiri allegedly used various aliases while messaging victims, including names such as Brandon Cress, Brandon Ali, David E, Cristian Ortiz, and David Andrews, police said.

Authorities have also identified several social media accounts believed to be associated with him, including multiple handles on Instagram and Snapchat.

Investigators said they understand these crimes are deeply personal and encourage victims to come forward so they can fully understand the scope of the case.
