Aaron Castro earned a win in singles, leading West Scranton to a 3-2 win over city rival Scranton on Thursday in a Lackawanna League boys tennis opener.

The Invaders, who swept the doubles matches, also earned the first career win for new coach Johnny Sinclair.

Keiner Orozco and Antonio Fiorillo teamed for a win at No. 1 doubles, and Victor Ortiz Toledo and Michael Evanosky added a win for the Invaders at No. 2 doubles.

Tom Bergman and Yax Patel had wins in singles for Scranton.

Holy Cross 4, North Pocono 1: At the University of Scranton, Alex Harrison, Ray Zhang, and Alfred Betts swept the singles matches, leading the Crusaders to their opening match win.
