MONTOURSVILLE — Raise the Region is underway across central Pennsylvania as hundreds of nonprofits take part in the annual 30-hour online fundraiser. Organizers say the giving event continues through 11:59pm tonight at raisetheregion.org.
A kickoff celebration was held Wednesday at a Blaise Alexander dealership in Montoursville. Community members, nonprofits, and supporters gathered to launch the event with music, activities, and livestreaming.
Organizers say the fundraiser has grown into one of the region’s biggest days of giving. Based on early momentum, they say the total raised could surpass $1 million before the event concludes tonight. Donations supporting participating nonprofits can be made online at raisetheregion.org.
