LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Lower Merion Township said they have seen an uptick in the number of vehicle thefts recently, and are offering vehicle owners tips and tools on how to avoid becoming victims.

These vehicle thefts appear to be targeting Honda models, police said.

Lower Merion Township residents can get free steering wheel clubs from police by setting up an appointment by calling 610-645-6240 or email police@lowemerion.org.

Police said residents should also follow these tips to make their vehicles less enticing for thieves:

Never leave valuables and electronic devices in plain sightAlways lock your vehicle and check that windows are rolled upUse a steering wheel club and/or a car alarm systemPark in well-lit areas and avoid parking in vacant lots.
