The show that The New York Times called the “funniest play to open all year” is being presented by City Theatre through March 29.

“Eureka Day” is about an ultra-progressive California school that finds itself in a bind when a mumps outbreak exposes varying opinions

on…everything.

“Eureka Day” premiered in 2018 and explores the challenges of finding common ground in a polarized world. The play has received rave reviews, productions around the globe, and numerous awards, including a 2025 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play for its Broadway

production and recognition from Drama Desk awards and the Drama League.

City Theatre is partnering with several community organizations in conjunction with the production including Allegheny County Immunization Coalition, Casa San Jose, and Literacy Pittsburgh. Patrons are encouraged to meet these community partners prior to the performance on

Thursday for “City Connects Night” or join the post-show

talkback on Sunday featuring Dr. Amesh Adalja, whose work focuses on emerging infectious disease, pandemic preparedness, and biosecurity

“Eureka Day” will be presented Wednesdays at 1 p.m. and/or 7:30 p.m.; Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays at 1 p.m. and/or 5:30 p.m.; and Sundays at 2 p.m. or 7:30 p.m.
