A recent fundraiser collected $150,000 for Reading Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit.
The Friends of Reading Hospital and the Reading Hospital Foundation hosted a Farm to Table(aux) celebration on March 6 at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Reading.
The event was themed to the bold spirit of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo and brought together community leaders, health care advocates and supporters to raise funds for Reading Hospital’s Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
More than 300 guests gathered for an evening that blended farm-fresh cuisine with immersive artistic displays and opportunities to invest in initiatives that directly impact families in Berks County.
Proceeds from Farm to Table(aux) will be used to expand and enhance Reading Hospital’s NICU, helping to ensure the region’s most vulnerable newborns receive intensive, comprehensive care close to home.
“Reading Hospital is a nonprofit health care organization, which means every gift to the foundation stays right here,” said Katherine Thornton, Reading Hospital Foundation president. “The proceeds raised from Farm to Table(aux) will make a meaningful difference for our NICU families in Berks County and allow us to strengthen the services and care we provide to our tiniest patients.”
