Dorothy Marie Heim Gianaris
Dorothy M. Gianaris, age 91, of Erie., passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at St. Mary’s at Asbury Ridge. She was born on August 9, 1934, in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of the late Elmer Heim and Josephine Malinowski Heim.
She worked as a clerk at GE before becoming a homemaker and was a member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Peter N. Gianaris in 2021, two sisters; Catherine Osburn and Patricia Heim, as well as two brothers; Elmer and Edward Heim.
She is survived by her son Nicholas P. Gianaris (Heidi) of Erie, nephew Ronald Heim (Erica) of Pittsburgh, niece Lisa Breitenbach (Mark) of Collegeville, PA, niece Renee Cudvat DeVito (Mario) of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, as well as many other nieces and nephews. Dorothy will be fondly remembered by her sharp wit and humor, but most of all by the great love and affection she had for her friends and family.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd., Erie, PA 16506, on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 3 pm until 7 pm. Trisagion Prayers will be offered at 5 pm by the Rev. Fr. Constantine Alexandrides. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 10:00 am at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 4376 West Lake Road, Erie, PA 16505. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery.
