Michael J. Campanella (1955 – 2026)

Michael J. Campanella, 70, of 1644 9th St., Bethlehem Township, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest Campus, Salisbury Township. Born in Philadelphia on July 24, 1955, he was the son of Helen B.M. (McGuire) Campanella of Hellertown and the late Michael J. Campanella. He was the husband of the late Kay A. (Mowrey) Campanella, who passed away Dec. 20, 2013. Mike worked in the BOF department at the former Bethlehem Steel for 29 years. He later co-owned Mike’s Kid’s Doggie Shop in Hellertown and also worked as a shuttle driver for Faulkner in Bethlehem. He was a member of the Edward H. Ackerman American Legion Post 397 and the Democratic Club, both of Hellertown. Mike was a 1974 graduate of the Saucon Valley School District. In his free time, he was an avid Penn State and Philadelphia sports teams enthusiast, and especially cherished spending time visiting his grandchildren.

SURVIVORS

In addition to his loving mother, he is survived by his children, Jaclyn C. Nowicki and her husband Jeffery of Chatham, N.J., and Jason M. Campanella and his wife Erica of Media, Pa.; his sister, Janice A. Campanella-Repnyek of Bethlehem Township; and his five grandchildren, Brinley, Emrie, Hadley, Elle and Roman. He was predeceased by his sister, Liza Marie Campanella.

SERVICES

Family and friends are invited to call from 11 a.m. to 12 noon Monday, March 16, 2026 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by a service at 12 noon. Interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
