SCRANTON, Pa. — Lackawanna County’s Friendly Sons of St. Patrick honored Scranton Police Detective Kyle Gilmartin at their annual dinner on Friday.
The organization presented Gilmartin with its “President’s Award” tonight at its 120th dinner at the Scranton Cultural Center. Organizers tell Newswatch 16 the officer showed tremendous sacrifice and bravery.
“We’re afloat because of this community, and that’s what is most important, and I learned that this community supports its police officers and wants its police here, and they have our back,” said Gilmartin.
More than 700 people gathered at the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick dinner here in Scranton.
