A new store for clothing, shoes and custom designs has found new life after its recent grand opening and “rebirth” at the Palmer Park Mall.

Nestly’s Treasures Boutique opened its new storefront March 7 next to Snipes at the mall, owner Vanessa Prince said, joining the nearby kiosk she opened at the mall in January 2024.

Prince described the store’s merchandise as higher quality but still affordable, including jackets, vests, sweaters, necklaces, bracelets, purses and sunglasses.

She has also added her own custom designs to the majority of her goods using items like rhinestones and metallic markers — she has painted “Happy Birthday” on shirts, and she has designed the Miami skyline on the back of a jacket. She’ll do designs for customers’ orders as well.

“This is a talent that I just … it’s just natural,” she said. “I didn’t learn it, I just … I always love to paint and I was like, ‘Wow, I could mimic this image or draw my own flowers,’ you know?”

Originally from New York and now a Forks Township resident, Prince said she previously worked for 24 years in the corporate world.

“So I, a year and a half ago, let go of my career because this just felt right,” she said. “It was amazing that I could afford to let go of that career and this is actually supporting me. So with that said, it’s like … I love the catering. Like I used to only make my own stuff. So when I wear it and I’m at the mall, they’re like, ‘What is that? That’s a vest? Did you do that? I want one.’ So it started off as, ‘OK, I could do one for you. Bring in your vest or whatever, and I’ll do it.’ And then it just escalated from there.”

She began Nestly’s as an online business in 2013 before she opened a storefront in 2023 in Tatamy, which she said closed the following year due to the overhead costs and inadequate location — but she kept the sign and displays.

“I don’t regret that I had to close it because I didn’t know anyone from the area and I was a new business,” Prince said. “So the people that I met over there, that visited my store and supported me, followed me to the mall … I didn’t give up. I just downsized and started over.”

Looking ahead, Prince intends to eventually host events such as live music from her husband Audley (professionally known as Young Prince) and workshops where people can customize their own apparel.

“I just love the feedback … they’re happy about what I created for them,” she said.

Prince said the hours for Nestly’s Treasures Boutique are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. all week.
