The Rossetti Foundation for Arts and Culture will host an immersive evening of music, poetry, and artistic exploration at 5 p.m. Sunday, March 22, at the Rossetti House at 1005 Vine St., Scranton.
The NEPA Guitar Society & The Olde Stories will present “The Surreal & Folkloric: The Music and Poetry of Federico García Lorca and Others.”
This multidisciplinary concert project explores Lorca’s poetic and musical legacy through spoken word, guitar ensemble, and vocal performance — blending surrealism, folklore, and Spanish cultural traditions.
The event will feature The Marywood Guitar Ensemble, directed by Diogo Carvalho; special guest artist Sungmin Shin (solo concert at 3:50 p.m.); Kyle Jenkins — ensemble arrangements, guitar; Jason Smeltzer — reading, theremin, eurorack, and Marywood Vocal Soloists.
Set within the historic Rossetti House, this performance invites audiences into the dreamlike and folkloric world of Lorca — where moonlight, memory, and music intertwine.
There will be light refreshments with a cash bar.
Admission is free. Donations are welcome to support continued arts programming in Scranton. For information, call 272-299-7330.
