A female victim was fatally stabbed at a Newberry apartment complex, and police are seeking 25-year-old Demars Randolph Jr., considered armed and dangerous.
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Authorities say one person is dead following a stabbing in Newberry as police continue their search for the person responsible.
The Newberry Police Department said officers were called to Vincent Street around 1:15 a.m. for a report of a stabbing at Bethlehem Gardens apartments. Officers found a female victim with a stab wound to the upper body. Emergency medical personnel took the victim from the scene, but she later died.
Police are now looking for 25-year-old Demars Unique Tyreke Randolph Jr. of Columbia in connection with the death, which is now being investigated as a homicide. Authorities said he should be considered armed and dangerous, urging the public not to approach him.
