Archbald
Interactive community meeting: Nonprofit Valley In Motion is hosting an interactive community meeting at the Archbald Borough Council chambers, 400 Church St., on Wednesday at 6 p.m. Community members will develop concept plans for adaptive reuse of two historical buildings near the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail, following up ideas generated from a community meeting on Aug. 14. The Shifting Shanty and Fan House are remnants of the coal era in Archbald and have been left in disrepair; there is an opportunity to repurpose these historical buildings for today’s community needs. Residents and trail users are invited to shape these future amenities of Archbald. Light refreshments will be available. The event is free and open to the public. Information about the event can be found on Valley In Motion’s Facebook page.
